Climate change is often in the news. But just how bad are things really?
And what can we do about it?
The planet is in ecological crisis. Scientists believe we may have entered a period of abrupt climate breakdown. This is an unprecedented global emergency. Our children and our nation face grave risk.
In this public talk for Ruddington, Tom Barber from Extinction Rebellion (Nottingham) will share the latest climate science on where our planet is heading, discuss some of the current thinking around climate change, and offer solutions.
All ages are welcome and encouraged to attend, but due to the content of the talk, parental discretion is advised. Places are limited on a first-come-first-served basis.
This event aims to:
– raise awareness of and tell the truth about the current environmental crisis;
– arm local people with facts they can share with neighbours, friends and family;
– consider what we can do about this in Nottinghamshire.
There will be time to ask questions and discuss afterwards.
Entry is free but donations towards venue and refreshment costs at the end of the event are welcome (only if you can afford to).
Please walk or cycle if possible; there’s a secure place for cycles, but little car parking space.
