Dear RBC and Friends…
The summer holidays are past and the new school term and year are just beginning. New classes, new schools, and for some the start of University or work. For others, a change of home, work, health or other circumstances. But whatever is changing – or staying the same for us right now – we trust with the apostle Paul that: “neither death nor life, neither angels nor demons, neither the present nor the future, nor any powers, neither height nor depth, nor anything else in all creation, will be able to separate us from the love of God that is in Christ Jesus our Lord.” (Romans 8:38,39)
The recruitment team and the leadership team are just finishing the church profile. As soon as we have agreed it as a church we will be starting to actively look for a new minister, which is really exciting (and a little nerve-wracking).
This term, as a church, we will be looking more at this letter that Paul wrote to the churches in Rome. When he wrote it he hadn’t been to Rome, although later he would be imprisoned there and killed. Paul wrote to encourage the new churches there and to share with them the good news of Jesus, the Messiah, God’s appointed King. Like those early believers in Rome, we too are “loved by God and called to be his holy people” (Romans 1:7).
We hope that you will join with us in this journey of faith and encounter with God, and would love to see you at St Peter’s Rooms as often as you can make it. If you aren’t meeting regularly in a small group at the moment and would like to start then please let one of the Leadership Team know, and we’ll sort something out for you! And there are also a range of great daily prayer resources available: see “Resources” > “Time with God Every Day” on the website – https://www.ruddingtonbaptist.org.uk/everyday/
Yours in Christ,
Chris and the Leadership team
