Easter weekend at Ruddington Baptist Church was a time full of celebration.
It began with a meal at The Hub on Maundy Thursday attended by regulars of Ruddington Baptist Church, friends and neighbours. It was so well attended that we overflowed into the garden and enjoyed the lovely weather. A big thank you to Graeme who quickly adapted his recipe for pizza dough to make triple the amount he had initially anticipated.
On Good Friday we joined with our friends at St Peter’s Church for a service exploring the story of the betrayal and crucifixion of Jesus through dramatic readings. We then opened The Hub on Easter Saturday as a welcoming peaceful space for reflection and prayer. We called it the waiting room.

On Easter Saturday we also celebrated the wedding of two of our church members Martine and Rob which took place at Ruddington Methodist Church. It was a beautiful day for a wedding and we wish Rob and Martine many blessings as they enter into married life together.

We then had a party on Easter Sunday morning as we celebrated the resurrection of Jesus. We had hot cross buns, a massive game of pass the parcel, an Easter egg hunt and every person who attended received a party bag filled with items that help us to remember why Jesus rising from the dead is so significant to our lives today.

We praise God for such a wonderful weekend and most of all for his love in sending his son Jesus to die on the cross and to defeat death so that we can receive forgiveness and life.
